In general, funding is available for outstanding Domestic and International PhD students, as well as for Domestic Masters.

JOINT PhD (COTUTELLE)
Carleton University has a program for joint Ph.D. degrees with dual diplomas. The program works as follows:
- The student enrols in two universities in different countries
- The dissertation research is done collaboratively with the two universities
- A faculty member from each of the universities is involved in cosupervision
- Dissertation examined by a committee from both institutions
- The student receives a dual degree/diploma
- The degree courses and research are done in English

- Complutense University of Madrid, Spain
- University of Málaga, Spain
- University of Hamburg, Germany
- University of Marseille, France
- Ecole de Mines IMT, France
- Other options available in Italy, France, Spain, UK, Argentina and Brazil
